Multifaced Foundations: BFA Thesis Project

Through an unconventional process, I've engaged individuals in dialogue, encouraging them to share their opinions on art students, art school, and careers in the arts. This project takes form through the collection of social media threads and anonymous voicemails, each contributing to a multifaceted narrative.

By posting flyers in public spaces and extending the invitation to others to do the same, I've embraced the street as a canvas for dialogue. Simultaneously, I've posted anonymous inquiries on local town Facebook groups, amplifying the reach and scope of this exploration.
What intrigues me most is the dual nature of anonymity in this endeavor. Some participants choose to speak candidly over social media, openly sharing their thoughts with their names attached, while others prefer the veil of anonymity when leaving voicemails. The contrast highlights the intricacies of public perception and the fluidity of self-expression in our digital age.

My work is a reflection of the evolving nature of art and conversation, utilizing social media to gather a rich tapestry of voices, ultimately shedding light on the nuanced relationship between art education and societal perspectives.
