Angelina DeDominicis (she/her) is a teacher candidate in Maine College of Art's Master of Arts in Teaching program with graduation May 9, 2025 which she will be offciallay certified in Maine to Teach K-12 Visual Arts. She holds a BFA in Photo/ Video/ Film and a minor in Art Education from Montserrat College of Art class of 2024.
Angelina's teaching philosophy centers on the belief that "creativity is an essential skill." In many educational settings, the emphasis on rote memorization often stifles creative thinking. Angelina aims to counter this trend by promoting creative play in the classroom and allowing students the freedom to make artistic choices in their work. Rather than relying on cookie-cutter projects, she envisions a learning environment where students can thrive, regardless of their artistic abilities, and express themselves fully through the process of making. This approach not only nurtures individual creativity but also fosters a deeper engagement with the arts.
